Trust

Happy Valentines Day! If no one in your life expresses their love towards you today I want to remind you that you are worthy, you are enough, & you are so very loved.

I saw this quote on Instagram earlier this week & it really impacted me. When I saw it I was like yes!

It’s really easy to get caught up & think we need all sorts of things, but really they’re just wants. I need a boyfriend, I need more friends, I need to make more money. These things really aren’t necessary in the grand scheme of things, but when we approach God asking for them & we don’t get them we tend to get disappointed. I love what Abigail says that God supplies everything at just the moment we need it, not before, not after, but just at the right moment. In seasons of waiting it’s easy to get discouraged, but what we’ve been asked to do is trust God. Trust that He knows exactly what He’s doing & that His timing is perfect. Trusting God isn’t always easy & I believe that this is something we constantly end up working on throughout our lives. The Bible talks about how God supplies enough food for the birds to eat & it asks us are we not more precious to God than the birds? God cares about us & He knows what’s best for us & what we actually need, sometimes that’s hard. Trusting someone else with our hearts & lives, but who better to put our trust in then the God of the universe, who knew us before we were even created. God gives us exactly what we need in our current seasons & not much else beyond that. It’s taken me a long time to realize that it’s because He really wants us to be able to trust Him no matter what. He wants us to put everything in His hands & believe me I’ve struggled with this, but I’m realizing that in trusting him I find peace. He wants me to be at peace in knowing that He’s in control & that I can trust Him, that even though things may not turn out the way I think they should He has the best intentions for me in mind.

That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing?Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, vyet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
Matthew 6:25-34
And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
Psalm 34:10

  1. Such a good quote. Accepting that something may not be for our best is tough. But just as you pointed out, it’s about trust. Letting go of our wants and trusting God has our best. Thank you for the beautiful reminder! I’m so glad I found you through By His Grace Bloggers!

I also wanted to invite you to join me for my recently moved to Thursday link-up called #MomentsofHope. Your content is exactly the hope that I love seeing shared there!
