ראוי – Worthy

Over the weekend one of my friends got a tattoo & the tattoo is worthy in Hebrew, this got me thinking about our worth, how we view ourselves & how ultimately God views us. In today’s society, especially as women we have things thrown at us on a daily basis, things about our weight, about our clothing, & about looking young. It can become extremely overwhelming at times, but the important thing isn’t about how other people view us, but how we view ourselves & ultimately how God views us. Self worth is such a big issue today & I think it’s important that we realize God doesn’t make mistakes, we are made perfectly in His image.(Genesis 1:27)  We shouldn’t be worried about how people view us, we should be clothing ourselves with God’s love. Now some of you may think well I’m not worth loving because I’m not good enough, but in 2 Corinthians 12:9 it says, ‘Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weakness, so that the power of Christ can work through me.’ No matter what we’ve done, or how we look it can never erase the worth we hold. When God sees us, He doesn’t see the mistakes we’ve made, or the flaws we see, He’s sees us perfectly without fault, He sees us the way we should see ourselves. We are worthy of His love, &  our worth is not measured by weight, pant size, how many wrinkles we have on our face, the things we’ve done wrong, or the degrees behind our name. I think it’s important we find our worth in Christ, not from superficial things that’ll fade away. One last verse I would like to leave you with is Isaiah 43:3 it says,  “Others were given in exchange for you. I traded their lives for yours because you are precious to me. You are honoured & I love you.”
