Hello everyone, it’s been a while. Life has been very busy lately and there’s been a lot of changes. A lot of great changes, but as you know that can also add some stress. This topic again was voted on by my lovely followers over on my Instagram. Make sure you’re following me over there & you’ll get to help choose topics & give me ideas for this blog. This blog is as much mine as it is yours.
So this week I want to talk to you about inscribing the Word. Before I tell you what this is I want to give you a little bit of background of my history with the Bible. I attended a Christian school my whole life & part of the curriculum was for us to memorize passages of scripture. This meant that in a year I was memorizing about 9 passages of scripture. This happened for 12 years of my life. That’s a lot of scripture. At first I didn’t think it really made a difference, but now with writing blogs & just going through everyday life I realize how much I actually retained. I love the Bible, I went to Bible school after high school where for 4 & a half years I got to dissect the Bible & learn tools on how to study the Word deeper. A few weeks ago I remember crying to my Mom saying how I wish I didn’t have to work & that I could spend hours everyday in the Bible. Due to this deep love for the Word I’m always switching up my devotional routine & trying to find new ways to make the Word come alive. I currently read one chapter in the OT & one in the NT followed by two different devotionals & I just added something new I really wanted to share with you all. First off I just want to say the Word of God is SO important to our lives as Christians & if we skip this, we really are missing a very important part of what it means to be a follower of Christ. The Bible is God’s words for us to read, follow & understand. One of the things I learned in Bible school is how important every word in the Bible is. Every word is very specific & there for a reason, this is why it’s very important that you have a good translation when it comes to studying & truly understanding what God is trying to say.
So about this new thing I added I’ve started inscribing the Word daily. This comes from Erika over at A Symphony of Praise. Basically what it is, is every month she gives you passages of scripture for everyday & the idea is that you read it through a few times & then you write the passages down. For example this month we’re going over the miracles of Jesus & so everyday I write down a passage. She also has a method called WORD that helps you get even more out of the passage. Personally, I’ve been using Inscribe the Word to help me find the key words & themes of the passage. I can show you what it’s been looking like for me. It’s a really cool way to get more out of your time with God & it really allows you to get your creative juices flowing. I just thought that there may be someone out there that’s looking for something to add to their devotional times & I wanted to share it with you. Erika also has a version for children if this is something you think you want your kids to get involved in. It’s really a great way to get deeper into the Word. Here is the step by step guide to get yourself started.
Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.
Psalm 119:105
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
The grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of our God endures forever.
Isaiah 40:8
Love,
Love this idea!

I’ve recently discovered writing out Scripture and I’ve found it so helpful now I’m heavily pregnant and exhausted! Really encouraging to see how passionate you are for God’s Word 🙂
