I just want to thank my followers over on Instagram again this week for helping me choose this topic. If you want to see more content like this you can follow me there.
Today I want to paint somewhat of a different picture. We live in a society that is very ‘me’ focused. We’re selfish, & we want to be comfortable. We don’t like to be inconvenienced & we want things to go our way. Even as Christians who are aware of our selfish nature if we really look at ourselves honestly we can say that there are times where we’re selfish. Sometimes I think about Jesus, what if He was selfish? What if He had decided sorry God, dying for all of these people is just not what I’m feeling today, it’s too much of an inconvenience for me. Where would we all be? God never promised our lives would be easy, or without pain, He promised us that He would be with us through every step of the way. We all tend to go through these seasons & they’re hard & can be really frustrating at times, but you know sometimes these trial we go through aren’t all about us. Yes, they involve us & there are lessons for us to learn, but do you know that the way we handle these seasons can affect other people? I don’t want to freak you out, but there are people in your life that you have influence over, they watch you & they look up to you. So the way you handle these seasons can really affect other people. Sometimes you go through things & you don’t know why & it’s hard, but in the end, you have an incredible testimony & when you share it, it’ll help someone else. You may be going through a hard situation & you’re choosing to have a good attitude & someone knows what you’re going through & sees how you’re handling it & they think if they can have a good attitude so can I. You see our lives are really not our own we are here on this earth to make a difference, to help further God’s plans & one major thing God cares about is people. Whether we like it, or not our life has an impact, what we do matters, & it affects those around us. So when everything is falling apart around you choose to look at it from a different perspective how will what I learn through this season help me help someone else? When we choose to shift our perspective & line it up with His perspective our focus changes & those not so good things become big opportunities for us. I hope you’re encouraged that whatever you’re going through will have a greater impact than just for yourself.
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. “Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:13-16
Romans 5:3-5
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
James 1:12
Love,
Yay! This makes such an awesome point. We can be so so so “me” focused but God ALWAYS has a bigger plan. Our struggles do not have to be in vain but can be used for God’s glory. Great post!
