Today I want to talk about the importance of making time for your dreams & some tips on how to be organized in order for this to happen. First off I just want to say if you haven’t read the book The Best Yes by Lysa TerKeurst I encourage you to pick it up. As we get older it can be really easy to get busy & not make time for the things we love, or the dreams we have. I believe dreams come from God & if He’s put a dream & a passion in your heart we need to do our best to cultivate it & that takes time. The Bible talks about there being a time for everything, but in life sometimes we need to make time for the things that are important to us & that can involve us having to say no. That’s why I recommend checking out Lysa’s book she talks about saying yes to the right things & making it the best yes it can be. Don’t let fear of missing out, or of saying no stop you from making time for your dreams. So now I want to give you some tips on how to make more time for those things that you’re passionate about.
First thing is to set up a schedule. Set up a set time that’s dedicated to whatever that dream/passion is. It might be 30 minutes a day, or it might be once a week however long or often you deiced to make it, make sure you do your best to stick with it.
My second tip is to have a planner/notebook where you can write down everything in. Your schedule, to-do’s your ideas, inspiration somewhere where you can stay on top of things, & also a place where you can all your ideas are. I find it helpful as well if I want to squeeze in some extra time to work on this project. I can look at my planner/week & see if there’s space to dedicate more time to it.
The third tip is to set goals for yourself. Maybe you want to start a blog, maybe you want to write a book whatever dream it is you want to accomplish you need to set goals. Don’t set massive goals set small attainable goals that you can work on every week at your scheduled time to help you accomplish that dream you feel God has put in your heart.
My last tip for you is to create a routine. Once you have a routine you can stick to it’ll become easier to spend time working on your goals & getting closer to that dream of yours. Maybe your routine will consist of you sitting down at a certain place in your home, or making yourself a tea, maybe it’ll involve you praying before you start. Whatever it is you decide to do routines are similar to habits & once you have a set routine it’ll be easy to get started.
The last thing I want to encourage you with is things may not happen all at once. Accomplishing your dreams takes time & sometimes it goes a lot slower than we would like, but one thing that I’m learning is that God’s timing is always best. If we put in the hard work & show ourselves faithful to the dreams God has put in our hearts I absolutely believe that He will come through & make those dreams come alive. So as you go through this week keep dreaming & be encouraged to make time for those dreams in your life.
Whatever you do, do it enthusiastically, as something done for the Lord and not for men..
Colossians 3:23
Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:3
“Enlarge the place of your tent, and let the curtains of your habitations be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes.
Isaiah 54:2
This is.such a great post, I enjoyed reading it. Since the beginnin of this year, I decided to make myself a priority and do those things that brings me joy and I started making time for them and it feels great!

Alisha, I love the Best Yes! It is one of the books I regularly re-read. Thanks for sharing your take-away here. I love that we can break our goals down into daily habits and actually see them grow into reality! Sweet reminder. Thank you.
