Shine

Last week I talked about 3 steps to finding confidence & today I want to talk about truly shining. God made each & every one of us unique. You are special, you are made in the image of God & He doesn’t want you to be anyone but you. So stop. Stop trying to be someone who you’re not, stop trying to live like that other person you see on Instagram, stop looking at what that other person is doing & start to focus on you & who God has made you to be. You are the work of God’s hands & every single detail that makes up who you are He wants to use for something great. He didn’t make you special & unique just for you to hide it trying to be like her. It’s hard to figure out exactly who you’re supposed to be in this messed up world, but the more time you spend with the One who made you, the easier it will be for you to know who you are & what you were made for. There will always be people who find something wrong with you or don’t like you & there’s nothing you can do about it. So there’s really no point in trying to be liked by everyone. You’re loved & accepted by the one person that matters most & that’s Jesus. You’re worth should be found in who God calls you to be. Don’t let it be found in the number of likes or followers you have, or if that boy thinks you’re pretty. No, who you are is found in the One who knows your heart better than anyone else does. So my advice to you is to shine, shine as bright as you can. Don’t be afraid to shine & be who God made you to be. Be yourself because you’ll be the most fulfilled when you can be who God made you to be.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalms 139:13

We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Isaiah 64:8

And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.

Matthew 10:30-31

  1. Great Post! My grandmother taught me not to compare myself to others. I have my own life to live for God, let Him make of me what He wants. I can’t say my eyes don’t drift sometimes becacuse its so easy to look at others, but I am always reminded of her wise words.
    Thanks for sharing!
