So there’s been a lot of talk about ‘haters’ recently & this is going to be a little bit different than what most people have to say about them. Now I believe there needs to be boundaries when it comes to the negative people in our lives I’d like to paint a different picture. During one of my leadership classes in Bible school, my professor talked about how as leaders & believers sometimes we need to take a minute & listen to our ‘haters’. We need to be able to humble ourselves, search our hearts, listen to what they’re saying & see if it’s accurate. We should have people around us that can help us discern if what they’re saying is accurate, or not. Sometimes critics can be the voice of the enemy, but sometimes what they’re saying could be accurate. We always tend to look at critics in a negative light, but sometimes those critics can help you bring about a much-needed change in your life that’ll take you to the next level. Admitting you’re wrong, or that you need to make a change can be a difficult thing, but the outcome is always positive. Sometimes these ‘haters’ can also bring about motivation to prove them wrong. Now we have to be careful what our motives are (which I touched on in last weeks blog post), but they can help to push us harder. Deciding to go to Bible School has brought out a lot of naysayers, asking me really tough questions & I’ll be honest I get frustrated, but after that moment of frustration I’m always like just watch what I’ll do & what I’ll accomplish it fuels me to work harder & go after my dreams. Allow the ‘haters’ in your life to push you to the next level, take the criticism & let it change you in the areas you need to change, let it fuel you, & use it as a stepping stone to get where you want to go. Allow the ‘haters’ to push you towards God. God has equipped you to do exactly what He wants you to do, it doesn’t mean that you won’t require a little pruning on the way, but if anything when people try & push you down, let them push you forward instead.
If you listen to constructive criticism, you will be at home among the wise.
Proverbs 15:31
I totally agree with you! Such a good thing to think about!

I love this perspective. Pastor Iverson taught us to always listen to the negativity, no matter how rotten their delivery, because there could be truth in what they are communicating. It’s a powerful principle! Thanks for sharing!
