A lot of changes all came to me at once this past January & it was very overwhelming. I was heading into my last semester of college & my job for the past 5 years was coming to a close. If you know me at all, I’m the type of person that has to be organized & really likes to have things planned out & that includes the details of my life. So when my job finished & I had no job lined up I was really stressed out. I was constantly reminding myself of God’s faithfulness in regards to this specific area. I’ve never been without a job for a few months & they’ve always been exactly what I needed at the time. I got an interview within a few days of being unemployed & I was thrilled, but then by chance I applied for a hospital position (essentially my dream job if this is what I had to do for the rest of my life) & just a few days after my first interview was asked to come in. I was beyond excited & really felt that this would be a huge opportunity for me, better pay, benefits, more hours & a job that gives me the ability to grow. I thought the interview went really well. I thought surely this is what God wants for me. I accepted the other job with the hopes of being able to turn it down a few weeks later. I got an email back & I didn’t get the job. I was a little disappointed, but at the same time, I was reminded of how faithful God had been even in that situation. That I had a job in the midst of waiting for another one. Even though I thought the hospital job was perfect upon further investigation it probably would have made my things a lot more difficult, again showing me God is faithful & knows exactly what I need. God is faithful & sometimes we need to look back & remind ourselves of the times when He has been faithful to us. It’s easy when things aren’t going well to get distracted by what’s in front of us, but if we choose to switch our perspective & dwell on the faithfulness of God things won’t be so overwhelming. Make sure you take time out regularly to thank God for His faithfulness in your life & just to remind yourself of how faithful He’s been to you. I promise you, you will feel great.
