His

I’m sure like many of you when I was younger I was bullied. One of the things bullies like to do is call you names. I’m not going to lie it had a huge impact on me & it was very easy to start believing those things about myself since I was hearing it so often. It’s also really easy for us to compare ourselves to each other & also get discouraged, but I want to tell you something. We are children of God & we need to believe what He says about us. Our identity needs to be found in Him. It’s easier said than done. I thought I’d give you a list of some of the ways God sees you, His child.

1. You are valuable:

So God created human beings  in his own image.
In the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.
Genesis 1:27
You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
Psalm 139:13-14
So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows.
Matthew 10:31
No matter what anyone says about you don’t forget that you are valuable to God & He made you for a purpose.
2. You are New:
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
2 Corinthians 5:17
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. 2And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you.
Romans 8:1-2
But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.
Romans 4:5
You are a new creation no matter what you’ve done in the past when you come to Him you are made new. No one can hold your past against you.
3. You are loved:
“I will never fail you.
I will never abandon you.”
Hebrews 13:5b
“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life
John 3:16
 love all who love me.
Those who search will surely find me.
Proverbs 8:17
God’s love for you is deeper than any other love you’ll experience. Even at your worst God loves you, don’t forget that no matter where you’re at God is looking at you with love.
The last thing I want to remind you all of is that you are His. You are God’s child and no matter what people have said about you, or what you’ve thought about yourself if it doesn’t line up with what God says they’re simply not true. When you fully being to understand how much God loves you & what His thoughts are towards you it won’t matter what any says about you. Don’t ever forget that you are HIS & that He loves you & wants what’s best for you.

  1. Oh my goodness! I absolutely love this. Unfortunately my daughter was bullied in her middle school years and really struggled with depression and anxiety through her teen years. In the last few years, she has begun to realize who she is in Christ. My prayer is that she will continue that path on her own. I am absolutely going to be sharing your blog with her. ❤

  2. Thanks for sharing! I was also bullied. I just turned 24 this year and I am finally seeing the freedom Jesus has offered. People do not realize the impact bullying holds.
