There’s a couple of things I’ve learned over the years when it comes to hobbies. I have many different hobbies, but first let’s look at the definition of a hobby. Hobby – an activity done regularly in one’s leisure time for pleasure. So I have a few hobbies some of them old, some new. I’ll name some of them for you I really like reading, photography, knitting/crocheting, blogging, songwriting, etc. Honestly, there’s a lot of things I enjoy doing. But here’s the thing a hobby isn’t there for you to try to impress someone, or to make you more popular. Your hobby is for one person, that one person is you. When I was a teenager I got made fun of for being such an avid reader. People thought I was a nerd & didn’t really understand why I enjoyed reading so much. At first it really bothered me, but over time I realized I’m not doing this for anybody else but myself. Your hobby shouldn’t be something someone forces on you, it doesn’t even have to be something you’re good at. It’s simply something you enjoy doing in your spare time. You shouldn’t be ashamed of the things you enjoy, or worried about what others think at all. God wants you to be able to enjoy your spare time. He’s also made everyone unique so everyone is going to enjoy doing different things. What’s that thing you love doing that you’ve given up on? Go & do it.
